Alternative burgers like lentils, soy or quinua are a great way to vary grain preparations. I have to confess that this hamburger itself was not made by me. I have found a great supplier of these pre made burgers and it certainly makes a great option on hectic days. If you would like the supplier here in Bogotá let me know, I woud be glad to share it. I also know they ship nationally in Colombia.
So the recipe this time is for the garbanzo spread, a great idea for sandwiches, hamburgers, dips, or anything that need a type of spread.
Garbanzo Spread (1-1 1/2 cups)
1 cup Garbanzo beans
1/4 cup of olive oil
2 baked garlics (recipe here)
1/4 cup of dried tomatos
3/4 leaves of fresh basil
Salt and Pepper to taste
1. Soak the garbanzo beans over night. Place them in the food processor with the garlic and the olive oil. Mix
2. Add the dried tomatos, basil, salt and peper and mix again.
3. Enjoy, use it as a mayo spread or dip as seen on the first picture! If you are wondering the recipe for the quinua burger you’ll just need, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, tomato, and bread oh and off-course garbanzo spread!
1. Feel free to add the amount of each as you prefer.
Let me know if you like it! Have you tried any other vegetable burgers? We would be happy if you shared them with us!
