Thinking on detoxing? In this time of world cup and celebrations you might be eating way more and very differently from what you know as your healthy zone, so detoxing might be a great idea!
Now a days juicing is becoming well known for it’s benefits on detoxing the body, yet there is a big difference between green juices and green smoothies.
Green juices are usually made with juice extracts in which you put tons of green vegetables through a whole and the juicer extracts the juice through one side and the pulp through the other. The real benefit of these type of juices is that the vitamins and minerals that manage to make it to the juice are rapidly absorbed by the body since there is no fiber within.
Green smoothies are made in a blender, and the benefit is much higher than green juices. Since the fiber or pulp is still contained within the smoothie, it has more vitamins and minerals. Even though the absorption might be slower because of the high fiber content, it still provides tons of nutrients.
So personally, I’m a bigger fan o green smoothies, but feel free to alternate both, you still have benefits! Today I’m sharing a green smoothie for beginners. If you’ve never had a green juice or never have detoxed, this is the first step, because I have to say, not all green smoothies are good…or at least that says my taste! Drink it every morning before breakfast for a week and off course eat healthy through out the day, the smoothie on it’s own won’t be able to do all the detoxing.
Green Beginner Smoothie (Serves 1)
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 cups of water
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1 cup mango
- 1 banana
- 1 peach
- 5 dates
1. Add the spinach and water into the blender and blend until smooth.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend. If you don’t have dates feel free to use agave syrup.
